Our Brand new exclusive mix series - starts with Tom Flynn (Soul Heaven)

The sun is shining in the Skiddle Office and we have some great news to celebrate. Today we launch our brand new exclusive mix series, a sister development to our podcasts where we will be giving you the very best DJ mixes from some of the most exciting artists currently doing the do in the world of music.

We’ll be handpicking the mixes to make sure they represent only the best selectors around, and then uploading them to our Mixcloud, which you can of course subscribe to by heading here and following us. The first comes from house whippersnapper Tom Flynn ahead of him starting his residency for Soul Heaven at Ocean Beach Club in Ibiza.

Arguably San Antonio’s most luxurious location, Ocean Club’s pool parties were one of the success stories of the 2012 season and they show every sign of continuing that trajectory well into this year’s summer. Soul Heaven is the iconic label and clubnight helmed by DJs Bobby and Steve, and their music policy of house music across the board couldn’t be in better hands than the Birmingham based DJ and Pete Tong favourite, Tom Flynn.

We had a quick chat with Tom to find out about the residency and the mix.

So Tom your resident for Soul Heaven over the summer. How much are you looking forward to being a part of it?

Massively.  I've always been a fan of Soul Heaven, the vibe and quality of the brand has always been about good music so I'm more than happy to be a part of that.

Is this your first Ibiza residency? And will you be living there over the summer?

My first of many! I'll be visiting rather than living there this year… I plan on keeping my sanity!

If you could give a bit of advice to an Ibiza Virgin, what would it be?

Soak it in, absorb the vibe of the island and everything that it stands for.

You've done a mix for us, thanks! Tell us about it.

It's a mix that really shows the sorts of records that have been working for me on the dance floor in recent times. A few cheeky surprises in there too!

Is this emblematic of your style as a whole at the moment, or is it more an indication of your Ibiza selections.

More my style as a whole I'd say, but that will be represented at Soul Heaven.

Where else can we see you playing this summer?

Sankeys Ibiza, London, a few more places and then a tour of the US in the Autumn.

And finally what else lies in the future for you?                

I've got records coming out on Mobilee, Viva, and Circus, some gigs around the world and hopefully time for a cake!
