Established fundraising event Oxjam have announced an their first ever edition in Wakefield. The debut Oxjam Wakefield will take place on Sunday 21st October with over 30 acts playing across five of the city's venues on the day.
Headliners on the day will include near decade old Macclesfield rock trio The Virginmarys, fast moving Leeds post grunge act Dead Naked Hippies, Manchester rock and roll band Sauce, On Hollow Ground, who appear in support of their 2018 Constant State EP, Prestons rockers Building Giants and Liverpool-based reggae and dub collective Rum Riddimz Run, who will supply the DJ soundtrack to the event's late night party. Venues utilised at the event include Warehouse23 and Black Mass Bar & Club.
As a fundraiser, Oxjam was established in 2006 and since then more than 50,000 musicians have played to audiences that in total number more than 1.2 million. There have been over 4,000 Oxjam events since the festival's inception with 31 taking place in the UK in 2018 alone.
