Pete Rock and C.L Smooth heading to the UK

The iconic duo mark a quarter of a century in the game with a slew of UK shows.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut EP All Souled Out, Pete Rock and C.L Smooth will be engineering old school beats and drilling home their philosophical lyrics as they head to the UK this September.

Together Rock and Smooth make up one of the most influential 90's hip hop acts of all time and will bring their funk, soul and jazz infused jams to a one off performance presented by the Doctors Orders.

Pete Rock is also well known for his work as a producer with the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Jay Z & Kanye West and Nas but the two albums recorded with Smooth: Mecca & The Soul Brother and The Main Ingredient are what cemented his place in hip hop folklore.

Smooth's bars in 'They Reminisce Over You' (listen above) are some of the most iconic of all time, the track clocking in at number 12 in Rolling Stone Magazine's 50 Greatest Hip Hop Songs Of All Time.
