All round golden emcee and hip hop great, Pharoahe Monch is destined for a handful of live dates in the UK this year, bringing his blistering back catalogue to intimate shows in London, Leicester and Bristol in March.
The spotlight was first cast on Pharoahe Monch as part of Organized Confusion with Prince Poetry. Together they spun a web of socio-political rhymes that diverted from the popular discourse of gangsta-rap.
Eventually setting off on a solo voyage, Jamerson hooked up with Rawkus Records to impact the genre with Internal Affairs - a debut record that honed a more aggressive approach to flexing his agenda and on that included rap staple 'Simon Says'.
The most recent album to be headed by Monch is PTSD - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, weighted with guests including Talib Kweli. A voice of the people since first stepping up on the mic, this is a fine opportunity to see one of the genre's most iconic in some fine musical spaces.
