If you know the dance music scene well then you know that an underground rave is usually a good thing. If you're a bit longer in the tooth then the terms liquid beats and grimy vibes can also mean you've stumbled upon dance music nirvana, but they all came to mean something entirely new last weekend when hundred of party-goers brought the party to a sewer in Newcastle.
Yes, the same place people's shit and piss ends up was the location for a party which was eventually broken up by the police at around 4am on Sunday 12th March, after a concerned party goer had enough of swimming with turds and rang the authorities.

The Chronicle Live reports that "200 people waded through filthy water for the event in the cramped tunnels", which is one of the most unusual and pretty grim environs we've heard of yet.
