We take a look at the Alfresco festival starring Mr Scruff.

There’s an abundance of options for you to dig into this bank holiday weekend but if you’re looking for a bit of family focused fun then you could do a lot worse than Alfresco in Blackpool. Bolstered by the sounds of a certain Mr Scruff playing for four hours alongside MC Kwasi, the festival will be rippling towards a more eclectic music policy which lends itself perfectly to families being involved there.
Scruff’s unshakable sense of humour has been a fixture of his sound since he began, with his doodles making for a particularly light-hearted accompaniment to the visual side of things at his shows as well. There’s also that slight swagger of silliness in the music, which makes him so much fun for kids of all ages, even the big ones, and a perfect choice for the Spring Bank holiday weekend.
You can get a flavour of what to expect with this recent mix from Scruff and Kwasi, form when they played together for just shy of five and a half hours at Band in the Wall in Manchester recently. Also joining him on the day will be Aim/Niko, Flash Atkins, Galaxians and plenty more as well.
