Clash Magazine’s last night out as part of EAST not EAST saw an incredible crowd drawn in with the appearance of Bipolar Sunshine and Benin City. They look to repeat the same trick on September 4th with another intelligent line up waiting in the wings to take London by storm.
With the music policy being a heady mixture of folk, electronica and sideways beats, Clash Magazine as ever showcase the cutting edge and innovative with great passion.
Fyfe - Conversations
First up is 23 year old Paul Dixon, a.k.a Fyfe. Previously known as David’s Lyre, Paul Dixon has recently reinvented his sound and directed it more towards electronic soundscape with folk sensibilities. As Fyfe, he has attracted some serious attention as he blends the thoughtful and the delicate into an experimental pop sound that is every bit as intriguing as it is brilliant.
Jamie Isaac - Softly Draining Seas
Fellow Londoner Jamie Isaac will join Fyfe. The young eighteen year old singer songwriter has been impressing with his blissful, downtempo tunes with otherworldly atmospherics filled with emotion that shows a maturity beyond his years. His solo career has really taken off following the release of his debut EP ‘I Will Be Cold Soon’ on House Anxiety records. Standout track Softly Draining Seas will in particular be a highlight.
Nick Brewer - Behind Your Smile
Rounding off the bill will be Nick Brewer. Hailing from the streets of Essex, Nick Brewer has forged a name for himself with his lyrically dextrous rapping over the top of hazy, soulful beats that has set him apart from the more mainstream bilge that has sullied the name of hip hop. Nick Brewer is a definite talent to watch out for, a genuinely impressive British hip hop artist.
The night will also feature micro DJ sets from Somerset based DJ God Hard, and will coincide with edition 88 of Clash Magazine. The first 50 ticket buyers will get a copy for free, so get booking now!
