After one of the finest Ibiza seasons yet, Cocoon forge on through to winter with a series label curated parties, showing off some of the finest techno DJs the world has to offer. Their last excursion in Edinburgh over Halloween was monumental, with Ricardo Villalobos and Onur Ozer delighting the Scottish crowd with some devilishly primed dance floor action.
This next installment of Cocoon on British soil sees its arrival at the newly opened Building Six in South East London on Saturday 30th November, and features some of the label's MVPs at the helm.
Sven Vath Live at Time Warp
When it comes to techno icons, they don’t come more impressive than label boss Sven Vath. Over his 30 plus years in the business, Sven has retained a timeless quality, due to a peerless synergy he holds with his audience. He time and again tears through the finest cuts in techno, seamlessly mixed and brimming with passion and energy. His presence as a DJ is a joy to behold with his infectious, captivating sets showing off his knowledge of exactly what it takes to get a crowd moving. Joris Voorn Live at Source Festival
He will be joined by Dutch innovator Joris Voorn. With his sound drawing heavily on Detroit techno, house and minimal, Joris has crafted a signature sound over the years that has seen him in demand from DJs across the genres. His at times airy, spirited and beautiful productions are underpinned with lush, crisp beats that have continued to impress. His sets are a stunning journey through luscious landscapes and beat heavy bliss that has made him a leading figure in dance music as a whole.
Mathew Jonson rounds off room one. As one of the most seminal techno producers of our generation, Mathew Jonson's long career has seen him release records no just about every leading techno label going, from Richie Hawtin’s M_nus to Zip and Markus Nikolai’s iconic Perlon. His recent 'Automaton EP' on Crosstown Rebels has been one of the hottest records of this year as he shows no signs of letting up. Falling somewhere in between real tech house and techno, his hard to define sound is one that stands out a mile in a ruthlessly competitive scene. His turn at Cocoon’s London sojourn will be simply unmissable.
Vinyl purist Andre Galluzzi rounds off an exciting, intelligent line up that simply oozes class. Hats off to Cocoon for programming yet another blinding night of essential techno. With night’s like this, it’s no wonder that Cocoon is the most successful brand in underground techno.
