‘The longest running weekly club night in the world’ has been no stranger to big name headliners over its illustrious past. With past and presents underground heroes such as Chez Damier, Lil Louis, Frankie Knuckles, Claude Vonstroke, Jamie Jones all enjoying at least one visit to the iconic Leeds club night, it comes as no surprise then that Mr Chicago house himself - Derrick Carter would be joining the ranks of Back to Basic’s headliners.

Considered as one of the best underground house figureheads still working today, he has found time in his cramped schedule to give Leeds a night to remember. With a busy festival and touring season which has seen him collaborating with fellow house veterans DJ Sneak and Mark Farina right across Europe, Carter will be bringing along his wealth of experience and near enough infinite knowledge of house music to the discerning Leeds crowd on 8th June.

After running one of the most well respected record labels ever - Classic Recordings alongside Luke Solomon, Derrick Carter’s reputation has been cemented forever. The label famously ended in 2005 after reaching release number 100, but intense public demand lead to the labels resurrection in 2011. Since then the Chicago house innovator has been in more demand than ever. His extended set at Leeds Back to Basics will showcase just why the infamous Chicagoan is a DJ and producer that is held in such reverence.

He will be joined by Ralph Lawson, Danimal Swainger, Dave Beer, and a live set by Steve Hawkins & Shell Plews.
