Since the seventies one of the key components of dance music has been the remix. The reconfiguration of a record to transform it for another purpose, primarily to make it better equipped for a dancefloor, was a process done behind the decks and in the studio - Kool Herc playing the breaks of a record via two copies is what gave birth to hip hop, whilst the works of Tom Moulton helped shape disco.
We've been dancing to the process ever since, and it's the iconic art of remixing and editing that underpins the Editstival showcases in Chorley over the final May Bank Holiday weekend. They will be running three events across the elongated weekend that sees some of the finest talents in remixing and edting appearing, spinning the full spectrum of funk, house, disco, soul and more that the clubnight, Edit, has become synomous with.

Included across the weekend is the king of the re-edit Greg Wilson, acid house legend Alistair Whitehead, new kid on the block The Reflex (check his brilliant mix out that he did for us above) and many more, with three events each boasting a separate ticket as well as a group one for all three.
It takes place form Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th May at the Baku Lounge, and you can find tickets and more information here.
