Field Day Festival promises to deliver a day in a field like no other. London's Victoria Park will be transformed as the Village Mentality area bestows the festival with the air of a giant village fete, from traditional games such as the three legged race and tug of war, through to the Venn Street Market providing fantastic locally-produced food and drink.
We'll be (safely) bombing it down the motorway on Saturday morning in order to catch Daniel Avery's lunchtime set on the Bugged Out! stage, which will also play host to Seth Troxler, Julio Bashmore & the radio-friendly Disclosure. The afternoon will be a real trip around the leftfield, as we have the option of taking in such delights as Bobby Tank's glitchy electrofunk or the psychedelic disco edits of Psychemagik, we could even end up in front of the bewildering fusion of the Ginger Baker Jazz Confusion.

Later on, the choice between DJs and live music becomes tricky as we no-doubt end up flipping coins to help us make the impossible decisions that come up. Great DJs and producers such as Happa, Daphni, Pearson Sound, Oneman & Objekt go up against exciting live music from Mount Kimbie, Django Django, Everything Everything & Bat For Lashes.
Things are expected to take a turn for the intense late on: Four Tet bumps into Animal Collective's psychedelic experimentalism, while across the park the mind-melting techno of Blawan & Pariah meets in their Karenn collaboration. Another collaboration, between Hudson Mohawke & Lunice, promises to rip the roof off the Bugged Out! tent as TNGHT provide a suitable climax to our day in a London field.
