The sophomore party from Future Funk Airlines sees them building on their maiden flight with more disco dominated sounds at Brixton Jamm on Saturday January 18th. A side project of eclectic party starters Gold Teeth, the musical focus is on house, soul and disco for a lighter journey through dance music's history, with this event roping in King of the Edits The Reflex.
The London based Frenchman has become one of the most talked about players on the remix and re-edit scene, with support from mainstays of the genre such as Craig Charles, Gilles Peterson, Horsemeat Disco and current podcast mixer Greg Wilson. The latter even dedicated a lengthy blog to his productions, comparing him to greats such as Tom Moulton, Francois Kevorkian and John Morales.
Whilst his reworks have breathed life into older joints form the likes of Micheal Jackson, Marvin Gaye and the Bee Gees, at Future Funk Airlines it'll be his ability to craft DJ sets across the spectrum of the last forty years of dance music that will be under scrutiny. And as the above mix showcases, it's a testing he'll no doubt pass with, err, flying colours.
Support on the night will come from Daddy Long Legs and Knee Deep DJs, with the second room bumping to a takeover from a seires of an as yet unannounced special guests from both Gold Teeth's connections in Manchester and London. All ticketing details can be found here.
