Surely the one of the best things that the 90’s gave us was the birth of the enduring sound of trance. Still going strong now halfway through 2013, trance has continued to entice new fans and maintain old ones. Experiencing it live continues to provide mind-blowing euphoric nights that are truly unforgettable.
This brings us to Majefa, one of the leading lights of the trance movement. On Saturday 3rd August we can look forward to its arrival at Manchester's finest dance music venue: Sound Control.
Entering its sixth year this year, Majefa continues with its impressive lineups and epic production values. Previous headliners have included the likes of Solarstone, Agnelli & Nelson, Kyau & Albert, Stoneface & Terminal, The Thrillseekers, and Daniel Kandi, all to a rapturous reception.
As a change of pace though, Saturday 3rd May sees an introduction to Majefa’s first trance classics night, acting as a who’s who of trance, and a reminder of its origins and formative years, showing off the beauty and excitement that trance continues to hold with its fans.
Mejefa welcomes Scott Bond to the decks. This man needs no introduction; his regular slots at Gatecrasher, Miss Moneypenny's, Cream and Fun through the nineties and 2000's cemented him as one of the best trance DJs in the world. Now into his 24th year of DJing, Scott's limitless knowledge and deep affection for trance music will be a joy to witness at Sound Control this May.
Mario Piu will be joining him at the decks. Mario shot to fame with his release Communication way back in 1999. The unique use of mobile phone interference combined with a hands in the air, four-to-the-floor aesthetic destroyed dance floors thoughout the country. With that a star was born, and his set at Majefa provides a rare chance to see this man in action.
Joining him will be Signum. The Dutch duo have been stalwarts of the trance scene since their incredible remix of A.T.B’s ‘9pm til I come’ way back 1998. Their rolling synth driven uplifting trance is something to behold, and their set at Sound Control is set to be a momentous experience.
Joining them will be Akira Kayosa, Tom Rains, and Ryan Hamer back to back with Snake Arms, all intent on showcasing the full spectrum of trance, past and present.
With Room 2 featuring house and techno classics too, this is the ideal night for you to relive the good old times with some of the finest and most passionate DJs in the field. For any trance fans this is not to be missed.
