Our friends at Mixmag have a bit of a corker lined up this weekend as they bring their Mixmag Live project outside of London for the first time in Liverpool’s East Village Arts Club. The concept behind the night is simple, they pick one of the hottest starlets in dance music to mix a cover mount CD for the magazine and then get them to showcase their sound alongside a hotter than hot line-up. Previous incumbents have been Seth Troxler and Richie Hawtin, and this time round it’s the turn of Disclosure.
The brothers have blown away the field in little over a year, going from underground darlings to pop sensations. Their debut album is due out next week with remixes coming thick and fast to ramp up the excitement. The latest features the Toro Y Moi remix of ‘You & Me’ with Eliza Doolittle on vocals.
Joining them will be Matt ‘Jam’ Lamont, Pearson Sound, Voyuer and local support from recent Skiddle interviewee Rich Furness. If you’ve yet to check out the neat refurb gifted to the building formerly known as the Masque, this represents a cracking opportunity.
