The mods were a cool bunch weren’t they? Bopping around on scooters in parkas and sharp suits, they represent one of the most immortal of youth cultures and their appeal was summed up brilliantly by the film Quadrophenia. This weekend 2022NQ is putting on a clubnight which celebrates both the film and the music that inspired a generation.
They’ll be showing the film alongside a number of live bands, with the Atlantics performing the many of the hits off the soundtrack, including ‘Louie Louie’, ‘You really got me’, ‘Green onions’, and ‘Be my baby’. Also in attendance will be Manchester band Turrentine Jones and a DJ playing alongside the saxophonist form the Specials, spinning everything from ska up to two tone, 60s soul and much more.
