A thrilling weekend awaits on the 14th - 16th June 2013 as Ravenstonedale Festival returns once again for this, its 5th year of grassroots musical bliss. Ideal for fans of a good chill out as well as a bit of a knees up, the Cumbrian family friendly festival has become a favourite for hundreds of festival goers wanting everything from picturesque settings to an eclectic and diverse music program, combined with a relaxed and safe atmosphere.
With everything on show from live blues and folk, to electronica, breaks and reggae, Ravenstonedale acts as a who’s who of the finest in music from the North West of England. Some of the headliners this year include The Fallows, Jeramiah Ferrari, and Stolen Haven, plus DJ sets from Nicky Blackmarket and Gemma Furbank to name just a few.
With the festival growing in number recently, the organizers have resolutely made sure that they keep things low key and at a small scale, keeping the winning festival aesthetic intact. Staged in the beautiful and breathtaking Eden Valley in the heart of Cumbria, Ravenstonedale is a beautiful small festival, providing a genuine ‘back to nature’ feeling.
This year, brand new facets to the festival have been introduced in the guise of a comedy, poetry, and acoustic section to add to the diversity of the occasion. The infamous Dance Tent will also return for another year of blinding electronic music for you to rave the night away. The PDR tent at Ravenstonedale 2013 will be hosting many genres of dance music, with hundreds of fresh tracks produced here in Carlisle in various styles including: Techno, Electronica, Drum n Bass, Dubstep, Breakbeat, Progressive Trance, Garage, Hardcore and a healthy dose of Oldskool.
Ravenstonedale have also recently added none other than Buddhist Punkz. Starting life when Marcel Atteen met Dave Budgen and Rich Budgen as part of UK breakbeat supremos The Freestylers, the three got together to bring to the table elements of all the music they loved, to create a sound totally unique to them. Billed as “black sabbath meets rage against the machine in london town”, Buddhist Punkz have certainly made waves in the scene, as their collective momentum picks up a pace just in time for Ravenstonedale’s 5th Birthday Party.

The organizers this year are pretty excited about Ravenstonedale’s 5th Birthday: “We’re really going to smash it this year with the amazing new site, better access, excellent decor and new acoustic area, I cant wait!"
