Preview: Venus presents Chris Lake, 05/05/13

Earlier this year, the guys at Venus made a promise to bring to the club some of the biggest DJs on the planet. They fulfilled that promise by bringing the mighty John Dahlback to Manchester back in March. They are well and truly keeping their word by announcing the next legend in their sights.

Enter Chris Lake.

Chris has been the name on everyone's lips over the past six years, during his exponential rise to the top. He started gaining massive praise way back in 2001, thanks to bootleg remixes of tracks by Prodigy, Leftfield, and even Eurythmics' classic ‘Sweet Dreams’. With a slew of hit singles now under his belt, gaining four consecutive top 10 releases in America, Chris has succeeded where many others have failed, by conquering both Britain and the USA.

Now based in Los Angeles, this Scottish born DJ, and boss of the Rising Music and Rising Trax labels, will be gracing the Manchester dance music faithful with an unforgettable, exclusive, and highly contagious set. Now signed to American label colossus Ultra Records, and with tunes like ‘Changes’, ‘Only One’, and Pete Tong's essential new tune ‘Sundown’ being incredibly well received, Chris’ popularity shows no sign of waning, as his unique and innovative take on dance music continues to excite and thrill audiences everywhere.  

Chris Lake’s productions have long been a mainstay of Venus; absolute floor fillers that destroy the dance floor on a regular basis. Now he arrives in person for the first time to the club. Anyone that knows about him will know that he puts on one hell of a show. A Chris Lake performance is one to remember, a lasting imprint that will stay with you.

Alongside Chris Lake will be Venus house cat and legend Chris J Frater, renowned and respected DJ as well as popular producer as part of Frater & Stent, with releases on huge dance labels such as Hed Kandi and Pacha Records.

Finalising the bill will be a selection of the best local DJs, well adept at keeping the atmosphere electric throughout the night, including Venus faithful Alex & Jay, Dave Tunstall, Sean Grainger, Gavin Bayley, Ric Wainwright and Nick Kapoor.

Venus will be bringing all the flavours and excitement of a full on Los Angeles party to Manchester this May. Expect something truly extraordinary.
