After enjoying a blinding Hogmanay hoedown that saw UK reggae and dub icons Dreadzone destroy the Edinburgh Caves, Wee Dub returns for its full on festival incarnation - a three day party hosting some of the biggest names in dub and roots culture.
Edinburgh's old town will be a live with the pumping rhythmic feel good vibes of dancehall, dipatched by some of the scene's top bands, and hottest upcoming talent, portrayed in Wee Dub's Festival mix above. Held across five separate sessions located at Studio 24, Teviot Underground, Liquid Rooms and back at The Caves, Wee Dub is all set for its most extensive edition yet.
Heading the charge will be the likes of Manchester's Nucleus Roots band, live reggae nine piece The Drop, Glasgow's ever impressive Samson Sounds and long serving dub vanguards Iration Steppas, who will be joined by Danman. Bassweight and jams will also be provided by Glasgow dub institution Mungo's HiFi, who will be ably supported by Solo Banton and Riddim Tuffa Sound.
One of the world's greatest and best known dub reggae sound systems gets in on the action to, in the shape of Channel One Sound System, headed up by legendary selector Mikey Dread and MC Ras Kayleb. African Head Charge and Big Toes HiFi are just another two of the main draws for this year's festival.
Wee Dub has well and truly secured an impressive array of dancehall dignitaries for their 2014 installment, making this an absolute essential for lovers of roots culture.
