Preview: bitch presents tom staar and nick coulson

Bitch has rightly become synonymous with a certain brand of weekend escapism. The type of fist pumping euphoria that comes only when you delve in jackhammer synths, fierce electro and swaggering house grooves. They make sure each event is helmed by a dancefloor technician who understands the value of each of these caveats, and that run of form continues with the headline slot falling to a certain Tom Staar for next month.

Tom’s production prowess has ensured he’s been heralded as an engineer for a mind-boggling list of talent in the last decade, but it’s as a staar in his own right he’s started to shine in recent years. Alongside Jaymo & Andy George he started the Moda clubnight in 2007, a movement which has since gone on to become a revered record label. He recently launched his own Staar Trax imprint, the first release seeing Tom collaborate with Style of Eye on ‘after Dark’.

Joining him at Venus will be Nick Coulson, Gatecrasher resident and a man who knows a thing or two about running his club after manning the controls at the Syndicate in Blackpool, and the Bitch residents.
