Promoter Focus: Exhibit, Manchester

We have a look ahead to what cutting edge, Manchester based, house music night EXHiBiT is up to in the next few weeks..

Mike Warburton

Date published: 9th Oct 2013

After hosting the likes of Butch, Nick CurlySlow Hands and Luca Bacchetti in the last year alone, EXHiBiT has established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the closely fought battle for supreme underground house night in Manchester. Its upcoming nights build on that hard fought status by hooking in some serious big hitters and intelligent bookings.

Saturday 12th October...

Jordan Peak head up proceedings as EXHiBiT teams up London based record label Air London at the fantastic Gorilla Club for some of the finest techno and house hitting the scene at the minute.

Jordan Peak Live at The Loft

Billed as one of most interesting and versatile acts to emerge from the British scene in years, Jordan Peak is one of the few jocks that can successfully meander between house and techno with apparent ease and to devastating effect. Marrying the sound of the old school with fiercely up to date know how, Jordan Peak’s DJ sets alone have grabbed the attention of audiences all over Europe.

Nominated as Best British Breakthrough DJ by DJ Mag, and named by DJ Sneak as one of his favourite new house acts, Jordan is rightly deserving recognition for his peerless skills. His own productions have also been getting serious attention, with DJs like Sneak, Gerd, Seth Troxler, Groove Armada and Maya Jane Coles all giving his stuff heavy rotation, particularly his single on Air London ‘It’s Time’.

2013 has seen this insane rise in reputation continue, as Jordan and the whole Air London crew continue to take the world of house through to techno by storm. Joining him on the night will be the energetic, intense and ultimately brilliant Alex Celler and disco and deep house inspired duo Death On The Balcony.

Friday 8th of November...

EXHiBiT head to one of our favourite venues, 2022nq, with an extended set from Turkish tech house maestro Onur Ozer. In the heyday of minimal house scene, Onur Ozer was the leading light of its takeover of Istanbul, quitting his day job to pursue production and DJing full time. He was snapped up a few years later in the ever evolving underground house music scene by label and taste makers Freude Am Tanzen, followed by another EP on the still huge Vakant imprint.

Onur Ozer Live at Cocoon

With ever more releases gaining him a significant following, initially in Germany and later Europe, Onur Ozer repeatedly used his unique background to create some of the most mind altering pieces of music to be pressed to wax. As the years have gone on Onur has repeatedly honed and pushed his music forward, making him one of the genuinely original producers in electronic music.

He’ll be joined by Natural Rhythm’s Rudosa and Kaluki’s Flux Groove for a night of forward thinking dancefloor wares.
