In an insightful interview with us two years ago, Prosumer commented on disco songs, explaining "lyrics of pain and longing plus an uplifting tune and there is your party starter." 

It's a balance between euphoria and melancholy which make so many disco tracks poignant, and outside that blueprint, there's a whole load of boogie-laden productions which have shaped dancefloor moments, or hidden gems that creep out once in a while.
