It's that time of year again, Reading and Leeds have announced their first colossal headliner to hook the punters in and their first wave of acts to appear at the festival on bank holiday weekend.
Global heavy metal giants Metallica were unveiled as the first headline act, returning to the festival for a fourth time on the back of their monumental headline slot at last year's Glastonbury Festival (below).
Commanding a career spanning over three decades, Metallica are undoubtedly one of, if not the greatest metal band to ever roam the planet after selling over 110 million albums worldwide to date.
Crowd favourite Jamie T returns to the festival foray after four years since his last album, although judging by his latest long player Carry On The Grudge (check out 'Zombie' from that below) and his sell out tour this year, there'll be plenty of festival goers in attendance to get a piece of indie pops poet laureate.
Also announced were Californian post hardcore outfit Pierce The Veil, Wilkinson giving the drum and bass heads something to shout about with his incredible live show, and Refused who'll flaunt their eclectic palette spanning anywhere from noisy punk to Jazz.
Hip hop's most talked about collective this year Run The Jewels (check our recent review of them live), made up of EI-P and Killer Mike, take up their place on the line up poster, as do purified indie rock band Manchester Orchestra.
