After getting lost for nearly an hour trying to find the place, we eventually arrived at MADchester hotspot Sankeys for what was undoubtedly one of the clubs biggest nights of the year, starring the mighty Belgian bro's 2ManyDJs and techno whizz king Justin Robertson who took to the Manc rave den's decks for the second time in six months.

Fine support came from club regulars Will Tramp, Jamie Bull and Oldboy, who played a deep mixture of electro, disco and house that ranged from legendary records by Alexander Robotnik all the way through through to the modern sounds of Bicep. After getting the party people warmed up, it was time to get messy in the basement once the Soulwax lads rocked up.

Having seen these guys bring it for almost six years, we planted ourselves on one of the podiums and went bat shit crazy for the next 90 minutes.

The guys pulled out all the stops as usual and kicked off the proceedings by going in hard and dropping Mr Oizo's mental electro track 'Pepa and Pepa' and carried on bringing their own flavour of eccentricity to the room that ranged from acid to tech house throughout the set.

Highlights of their mix included Tiga's new banger 'Bugatti' (above), Vitalic's electroclash classic 'La Rock 1', techno anthem 'Plastic Dreams' by Jaydee and Handbraekes' 'Chyna' (below), which was perhaps the highlight of the sweaty debauched night.

To bring things to a close the party starters finished off their set with Supergrass' seminal Brit Pop tune 'Alright' that got ourselves and the messy loved up ravers all singing and jumping in unison as the lyrics 'we are young' resonated with everyone across the dancefloor.

Ending the shenanigans was Hacienda alumni Justin Robertson who brought womping techno vibes to the basement troops. Stand out tracks from his sleazy set were his own mix of Boys Noize and Erol Alkan's 'Lemonade' and the hands in the air feel of Future Four's 'Into Orbit', remixed by Dark Circles.

When it finally came time for us to take our worn out, ruined bodies home, we couldn't help but look forward to hopefully having another 2ManyDJs night at the Manchester club in the not too distant new year, where we will have an excuse to lose ourselves on the Sankeys podiums all over again.
