Rick Ross performs live at Manchester Academy

With a name that takes inspiration from an LA drug kingpin and a body draped in gold chains and tattoos, Rick Ross is not your run of the mill rapper. 

The iconic wordsmith, real name William Roberts, heads to Manchester Academy on Monday 6th April in a one off UK appearance.

First breaking the moniker in with Hustlin' (below), Ross promised big things with his on point lyricism that stemmed from his Carol City Cartel days in the nineties. With multiple labels chasing his signature, Jay-Z eventually prevailed and he was signed to the lucrative Def Jam records. 

With that signature in place, Ross dropped his debut album Port Of Miami closely followed by Trilla. Both rocketed to the summit of the US charts, a trend that has followed him throughout his career - that produced several more albums encrusted in impressive collaborations that stretch from Jay-Z to Lil Wayne.  

Commanding an on stage presence like no other, Rick Ross still has plenty more to give and when a rap authority of his standing arrives in town people ought to take notice. Bag your tickets here.
