If you've got a spare $60,000 under the floorboards, The Beatles first pressing of The White Album may just make the perfect gift for someone this Christmas.
Assumed to be owned by John Lennon but kept in a vault by Ringo Starr, the album is heading to auction in Beverly Hills with a starting bid of $20,000.
The album released in 1968 acquired its name The White Album due to its plain packaging with the number of each release notched on the cover. It included songs like 'Martha My Dear' and 'Back In The U.S.S.R' (listen above) and has been kept in a London bank vault for over 35 years.
All proceeds from the auction sale will go to Ringo's charity Lotus Foundation to “fund, support, participate in and promote charitable projects aimed at advancing social welfare in diverse areas”.
