The stunning, paradisaic surroundings of Preston's Cuerden Valley Park will be the setting for an inaugural roots and reggae cultural weekender on July 5th and 6th, curated by North West heavyweights Operation Sound System in conjunction with Roots.
With the Operation crew now well into their 18th year of activity, the revered UK roots pioneers have enjoyed a stellar career that has seen them enjoy the company of the likes of Jah Shaka, Iration Steppas, Disciples, Quaker City and tonnes more.
Its notoriety has seen the exponents of raw reggae flavours called in to bring their inimitable, bass heavy sound to the four corners of the UK, with guest slots as far afield as Antwerp and Prague, touting their 'Who Feels It Knows It' philosophy to an ever growing fan base.
Operation's record label too has enjoyed immense success, with appearances from Ras Daddy Teacha, Prince Jamo and most recently Ricky Grant (check that out above) all responsible for helping push forward the imprint's distinctive brand of unifying dub and reggae.
The Reggae and Cultural Weekender will see the lauded sonic engineers join up with label favourite Ras Daddy Teacha, who will be flying in from Germany to perform live alongside Operation DJs Nick Sasquash, Droid and Krafty PK.
Leigh based live reggae specialists Jeremiah Ferrari join in on the action too (watch 'Jazz Cigarette' above), whilst Preston based roots and reggae alliance North Fiyah will be bringing some of their feel good vibes to the eagerly awaited two dayer. Head here to check out the rest of the line up.
Look out too for a wicked selection of Caribbean food, drink, and culture, as well as plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained throughout the weekend - perfectly complimenting the authentic, roots soundtrack on offer, powered by one of the most notorious sound systems in the UK.
