Bryan Ferry, Phil Manzanera, Andy Mackay and the original Roxy Music drummer, Paul Thompson, will be playing their only concert in Spain, almost three decades after their last show in Barcelona.
The British band, a paradigm of art rock, glam and the experimental pop of the 70s and early 80s, will be performing their hits at Sónar by Night.
Sónar Barcelona also confirms the shows by New Young Pony Club (UK), Aufgang (FR), Post War Years (UK), Caspa feat. MC Rod Azlan (UK) and Cabo San Roque (ES).
As of today a part of the Sónar 2010 film, “Finisterrae”, will be shown on Sónar’s website. This part is entitled “Tuning In”.
Tickets for Sónar Barcelona and Sónar Galicia for 17th, 18th and 19th June are on sale now at www.sonar.es.
Roxy Music, one of the great icons of contemporary pop
Roxy Music can be proud of a career in which they have experimented with many different styles: rock, pop, disco, glam, soul and touches of original electronica. Their sound was a predecessor of punk, redefined glam, was one of the standard bearers of art rock and was the foundation for other genres, from krautrock to electronica. Their most popular hits remain a benchmark for today's music: from Love Is The Drug and More Than This, as well as Angel Eyes, Same Old Scene, Avalon and Jealous Guy.
As well as Roxy Music, Sónar 2010 confirms 5 other shows in Barcelona: Read more
Sónar 2010 is taking place in Barcelona and A Coruña on 17th, 18th and 19th June.
