Go through any self-respecting list of the most important electronic albums of all time, and you're guaranteed to come across Melody AM by Tromsø-based duo Royksopp. With somewhere in the region of a billion copies sold world-wide, it's an album that thoroughly deserves to be coined 'seminal'.
Follow up album The Understanding was just as impressive, and cemented the Norwegian pair's status in the electronic music world. Marrying elements of movie soundtracks, classical composers, and the analogue warmth and depth of music from the 70s and 80s, theirs is a sound that still sounds fresh all these years later.
It's pretty big news then that Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berg will be performing at the sublime old train depot at London's Bankside Vaults on November 25th for esteemed clubnight Avant Garde, which has enjoyed headlines sets from the likes of Trentemoller, Apparat and Kiasmos in recent times. Another secret guest is yet to be announced, keep your eyes peeled for further developments.
