To celebrate a fantastic run of game changing house nights, Ruckus has invited Paul Woolford to be in charge of its clubland swan song at The Arena in Middlesbrough.

His recent ‘Untitled’ track on Scuba’s Hotflush label (above) has proven to be one of the biggest underground hits of 2013, as the now 38 year old producer continues to provide some of the most essential and unbridled output in the underground. Shying away more recently from the mainstream in order to pursue genuine, unhindered creativity, whether its with bass weighted house, techno, or even jungle, Paul Woolford has been combining elements from numerous disparate styles to forge for himself a sound uniquely his own. This kind of expressionism 20 years into a career is a rare sight indeed, but one that has certainly paid off. Refusing to get stuck in his ways or pigeonholed in any way, Paul Woolford’s tireless trailblazing has taken on a whole new level in the last year in particular, finding form in abandoning genre confines.

His headlining set at Ruckus provides a mouthwatering promise as the legendary producer is well placed to bring to a close end the Middlesbrough night's long run of impressive, defining nights with an almighty bang.
He will be joined on the night by the high flying saviours of UK house No Artificial Colours. The duo have been a constant feature on Beatport's Deep House chart, with a lot of love going their way from fellow producers, artist, DJs and clubbers. Grabbing the attention of industry giants like Jamie Jones, Maya Jane Coles and Lee Foss, No Artificial Colours have proven their mettle as producers. Their live sets contain an unending mixture of slick mixing, skillful tricks, exclusive edits, unreleased tunes that has made them one of the hottest teams working in dance music today.
Another all conquering deep house double team arrives in the shape of Waifs & Strays (read our interview with them here), and Leeds based whizzkid Denney rounds off the attack for Ruckus' final farewell. Its been an emotional ride, but one that looks to end in memorable fashion. With this line up, they’re set to achieve just that.
