Hot Water Comedy Club, Liverpool?s only purpose built comedy club, which resides on Seel Street is becoming quite the hotspot for surprise celebrity guest appearances.
Last night saw an unlisted appearance from four-time Live At The Apollo star & one of the biggest names in UK Comedy; Russell Kane (pictured with Joe Lycett & Sarah Millican). He treated the audience to over half an hour of his trademark blistering speed, energetic stand-up which had the capacity audience keeled over with laughter.
It?s always been common practice for big names of the comedy world to test their material at the London comedy clubs where they began their careers before heading out on big tours, but very rarely is this seen outside of the capital. However, Hot Water Comedy Club is fast gaining a reputation as one of the best venues for live comedy in the country for both audience and performer, hence the likes of Kane and other celebrity stars queueing up to use it for their pre-tour warm ups.
Owner and general manager Paul Blair said: ?It?s fantastic that our club has got such a fantastic reputation so quickly, since our launch in December 2016. We?re getting calls from huge names every week at the moment, asking if they can come and play the venue to warm up for their national tours. A lot of the time, these acts ask to be unlisted and we?re more than happy with that, because it?s more exciting for our customers. When you book tickets for our club, you?re guaranteed to have a fantastic night because we book the very best acts on the comedy circuit. But on any given night you could also end up seeing one of comedy?s superstars as an added bonus and watching the faces of our audience light up as those acts are announced to the stage is something I?ll never tire of seeing.?
