Yesterday (17th July) Sacha Lord announced his departure from Manchester’s Parklife Festival and The Warehouse Project, leaving the companies he co-founded after twenty years.
Announcing his decision on X/Twitter last night and on Instagram this morning, Lord confirmed his departure following the transfer of his shares to LN Gaiety, a joint venture between Live Nation and Gaiety Investments which bought a controlling stake of both in 2016.
Lord co-founded The Warehouse Project in 2006 alongside Sam Kandel and Rich McGinnis, debuting the event at Strangeways Boddingtons Brewery. He then went on to co-found Parklife Festival in 2010. The festival held its 13th edition in June this year.
Lord said on Instagram, “In 2021 the deal was agreed and in my book, released in April, I mentioned I would be stepping back and today, following a transfer of shares, is the day that happens.
“This wasn’t an easy decision to make. Parklife and The Warehouse Project have been my whole life for the past two decades.

But this will allow me to focus more on my roles as the Night Time Economy Adviser for Greater Manchester, Chair of the Night Time Industries Association and work alongside my beautiful wife Demi, on the Sacha Lord Foundation.”
Concluding his Instagram post, he said, “To the millions of people who have stepped foot in Parklife or The Warehouse Project, thank you. Without you all, they wouldn’t have been so great."
