Sage Francis at Gorilla

Embedded under the railway tracks of Whitworth Street, Gorilla is synonymous with bringing top drawer talent to Manchester from all walks of the musical sphere, this time around revered wordsmith Sage Francis makes a rare appearance on UK shores at the cutting edge venue on Thursday 16th of October. 

Sage is well known for his sharp, quick witted flow addressing various political and personal issues, with his most notable production 'Makeshit Patriot' (below) coming exactly one month after 9/11.

With a long-standing presence in the hip hop game, making his name in the late 90's early 2000's by winning the Superbowl Battle in '99 and the Scribble Jam in 2001 (check him out in action below), Sage has been around the block more than a few times. He's made a massive impact on the US underground scene, especially now that he possesses his own label 'Strange Famous' which he has released three albums out of to date. 

In total he has nine albums to his name, remaining as one of the most prominent rap artists about, and with only a handful of appearances in the UK and a recent new album 'Coppers Gone', the political poet is backed by a fresh batch of material, primed to commit some lyrical wizardry upon Manchester.
