Salford’s signature pride event returns to Peel Park on Saturday 22nd June 2024. Salford Pride Presents: The Pink Picnic Festival 2024 will take place from 1pm - 8pm and will be another momentous celebration of LGBT+ representation in the city. Grab your ticket now to join over 8,000 LGBT+ friends and family for a day of entertainment and community.
Originally delivered in 2011 by Lee Bowditch and Adrian Palmer, the event began as a means to bring around 15 people together for a fun afternoon, only for the event to draw a triple digit crowd. After over a decade of turning Peel Park pink, the picnic has blossomed into becoming Greater Manchester’s largest grassroots pride event, drawing crowds of over 8,000 in 2023.
This year's festival lineup has yet to be announced, but will showcase a roster of local and diverse LGBT+ voices. Prepare for a parade of prideful talent, from drag queens, musicians, dancers and DJs as they take to the main stage, along with powerful words from some of the community's leading voices, like Salford Pride patron, trans activist and Hollyoaks star Annie Wallace.
As well as their main stage, The Pink Picnic will host community stalls promoting local groups, organisations and charities. Activities and entertainment for families, children and LGBT+ youth, inflatables, a bar tent, food and drink vendors and much more await any lucky ticket-goers.
After last year’s picnic became their biggest event yet, Salford Pride Presents: The Pink Picnic Festival 2024 is expected to take the grassroots pride celebration to new heights, and tickets are free for every adult or an adult and under-16 customer. Don’t miss out on etching your place in Salford Pride history.
