Shropshire is gearing up to host the 3rd edition of its increasingly popular Shrewsbury Fields Forever on 13th - 15th September, at the West Midland Showground, Shrewsbury.
Featuring some of the best examples of up and coming artists, underground rock stars, and alternative expressionism combined with art, dance, and comedy, Shrewsbury Fields Forever stands out from the crowd, providing stunning entertainment whilst maintaining a very strong sense of community and togetherness.
Following on from last year’s heralding of artists such as The Wombats, The Charlatans, Ocean Colour Scene, Zane Lowe, Pendulum, Ms Dynamite, the first wave of acts announced today are shaping up to be equally as impressive.
Headliners at this year are set to include Warp Records indie favourites: Maximo Park. Since forming in 2000, and finally getting signed in 2004, the Newcastle based Indie outfit have gone on to record four albums, and are continuing to gain plaudits with fans and critics. Their high energy performance style is sure to really get things pumping at this years festival.
Joining them will be one of the hottest Indie franchises at the moment: The 1975. The Manchester based lads have become seriously hot property of late, with a whole host of well received singles, sold out tours, and an awful lot of airplay. These guys are destined for big things, as their performance at Shrewsbury Fields Forever will confirm.
We can also look forward to house music legends K Klass. Since meeting in Manchester’s infamous Hacienda back in 1988, the Welsh group went on to support 808 State amongst others, and in 1993 entered the charts at number 3 with ‘Rhythm is a Mystery’. They have since worked on producing other artists along with new material. Their performance at Shrewsbury Fields is going to bring a welcome bit of good old fashioned rave to the Shropshire Festival.
Other acts confirmed include Karlos Cheadle, P.A.S, Dene-No-Rhythm, Double XL, Wendy Wason (comedian), Lily Juniper, The Cosmic Rays, Snapped Ankles, DJX2, Mark Smallwood, Mike Archer, Dribbz
Monchi, H2flo, Banshco, and Nedd.
Shrewsbury Fields will be announcing even more additions to their already impressive lineup over the coming weeks. Watch this space for further developments!
