Freshers is fast approaching for many of you, and we understand moving away from home for the first time can be pretty daunting, but we're adamant that you'll never look back once your student loans lands, and you can pretty much do whatever the hell you want, usually incorporating a lot of partying.

To ease things along, we spoke to chart topping drum and bass duo Sigma, who provide a brief insight into their student life in Leeds. (check out our Leeds' Freshers Guide here)

So we understand university is where you both met, how important was it in shaping your musical styles?

Yeah very. We met there, worked at events and really got involved. Leeds had a massive drum and bass scene at the time, so we were naturally drawn into that. It was an exciting time for us.

Where did you used to go and party in Leeds?

Our regular hangouts were Northern Lights, Mint Club, Stylus & The 02. Lots of fun.

If you had to offer five essentials points of advice for a fresher hitting University for the first time, what would you say?

• Don't study too hard.

• Enjoy yourself.

• Don't spend your loan in the first week.

• Go to other peoples house parties, not your own.

Make noise and mess. It’s what you are supposed to do as a student.

Where can we expect to see you play over the upcoming months?

All over the place. It's pretty crazy to be honest, from the middle east to America, all of Europe and the UK. A list of most dates are on our Facebook.

What music news have you got lined up for the future?

Lots of new tracks, an album early next year, and plenty of touring!

All these interviews and much, much more are available on our website in our dedicated news section – head to skiddle.com/news for more.
