One of the most iconic voices of the dance music of the last century, Diane Charlemagne, has sadly passed away.
Charlemagne was originally known as the lead singer for British outfit Urban Cookie Collective, but was most memorably the lead on two of Goldie's drum and bass classics 'Inner City Life' (above) and 'Kemistry', but has also worked with Moby, Satoshi Tomiie and Joey Negro.
So she went into the early morning ...God rest her soul #diane🎁 what a gifted voice .

She had been suffering from cancer but had kept people updated about the impact of the illness with refreshing honesty. It was Goldie who sadly announced the news via the same medium this morning (see above).
Her last record 'It's In Your Eyes', recorded with Andy Rourke of The Smiths, will be released on November 20th, with all proceeds going to her family.
