Many of you will remember Becky Hill for her dazzling rendition of John Legend's 'Ordinary People' on the first-ever season of The Voice UK, back in 2021. Fast forward almost a decade, and her meteoric journey from obscurity to international recognition is really quite something to behold.
A serial collaborator who's worked with countless high profile names, the likes of Rudimental, MNEK, Little Simz, Jonas Blue, Oliver Heldens, Sigala and most recently, David Guetta, to name a few, she's had huge success over the years, breaking into the top ten of the UK charts on multiple occasions.
Now without question untethered from her talent show past, the prolific 27-year-old has rightfully earned herself a spot at the top of British pop culture, frequently crafting and releasing widely acclaimed singles such as 'Remember', 'Last Time' and what's probably her biggest single to date, 'Afterglow' - featuring drum n bass producer, Wilkinson. But one thing has always remained missing from the young vocalist's discography - an album. Up until now, that is...
Recently unveiling the release date of her debut LP, Only Honest On The Weekend, the popular performer issued a statement, highlighting the 'graft' and 'hard work' that's gone into the record and her excitement to share it with her fans:
"I've been waiting nearly 10 years to be able to say this! Finally, I get to introduce you to my album, my first complete body of work that I'm so in love with, proud of and excited to be putting out.
" With everything I’ve learnt in the music industry and in life, Only Honest On The Weekend reflects all that hard work, graft and growth. I feel so relieved, grateful and proud of myself, my team and my label for getting to this point. Here’s to many more albums and loads more success!"
In support of her forthcoming full-length record - available in stores and digital platforms from Friday 20th August 2021 - Hill has also confirmed a handful of dates throughout the remainder of the year, taking in performances at numerous festivals over the summer, including Lancaster's premier open-air event, Highest Point, as well as embarking on a headline tour across the UK and Ireland in the autumn.
Tickets for this year's Highest Point Festival are now on sale, and available to purchase below...
