Skiddle Mix 022 - Noisy Audio (Motion presents)

Motion presents’ resident and star in the making Noisy Audio is next up to the Skiddle decks.

The migration of Motion presents to a second home of London was something we discussed on the site a few weeks back, Darren Emerson and Butch joining the clubnight in their new home. Of course they had to keep the original vibe of what made them so special in Liverpool prevalent still, so amongst the artists joining them is resident tour de force Noisy Audio.

We thought he’d be the best person to deliver us a mix to represent the brand, so he did just that (stream it above) We also had a quick chat to find out everything going in his world and what to look forward to for Motion Presents in the future.

Firstly for our readers who be unaware of you, introduce yourself and your style.

I’m Chris Prudence, but as a DJ I go under the pseduonym Noisy Audio. I’d say that my DJ style stems from creating an atmosphere within a venue, where the crowd feel the groove and vibe build to big drops. Expect to hear the unexpected with quirky vocals, big basslines and older tracks that work in the present day.

You’ve done a mix for us, thanks! Can you tell us about it?

I have yes - I hope you guys and the people who listen to it enjoy it as much as I did putting it together.  I have tried to include a mixture of vocals led tracks that I have grown up with, so you will hear a few remixes of classics from a varying amount of genres.  As I said my style involves a lot of build ups and drops, so expect to hear this with some recently released big tracks and remixes.

Is it reflective of your DJ sets?

Yes definitely, think this set sums up my style and what you hear from me live.  I like to get straight into the mix and put my stamp on things from the start, I usually imagine I’m starting mid-set slowing it down before adding something unexpected and taking it in a new direction.

Aside from the residency at Motion, where else have you been playing recently?

The Liverpool scene is amazing at the moment with an influx of new events and promoters, which I have been lucky enough to be included in.  As well as my residency for our events Motion Presents, I have a residency with Release, and I have also had the opportunity to play for mUmU, Waxxx, Hustle and Session Faction this year, and a few others too.

What DJs and producers have excited you this year?

This is a very hard question to answer as there are so many amazing performers and DJs out there. Heidi, is smashing it at the moment and never fails to entertain. I love listening to her sets as she includes a little bit of everything. I recently watched a live stream of KINK live, and was completely blown away at how talented he was.

Then there is obviously local man and legend within the circuit Greg Wilson he has always been outstanding, would love to have him on at Motion at some point.  In terms of production, there are so many but recently I’ve been feeling tracks from Cuartero, Martin Landsky, Matthias Mayer and Sidney Charles, just to name a few.

Have you been in the studio much recently?

I haven’t been in the studio as much as I would like, I’ve been focusing more on the promotional side of things.  Though some of my tracks will be released early next year on some exciting labels (though sorry I can’t disclose any more information).

I will moving from my home studio into Liverpool, over the next couple months and love spending studio time with Jamie Haus who I will playing b2b with at the London event.  I think I know what I’m doing in the studio, then I spend 20 minutes with Jamie and my mind is blown he is a genius. He is definitely someone to watch over the next couple years, with some big tracks coming out.

And finally, what else lies in the future for you?

Well we have our London launch on the 27th September at The Sidings Warehouse with Butch/ Darren Emerson/ NTFO/ Carlo Gambino/ Wez Saunders b2b Mark EC and  Jimmy Allen from Liverpool, Courbeau from Sheffield and then myself and Jamie Haus b2, I literally can’t wait.

Other than the London launch we have two huge parties lined up, our first birthday in Liverpool on the 29th November at the Fallout Factory and NYE at a secret Merseyside location.  The Motion presents plan for 2014, is looking to expand and keep growing the brand across the UK both in London and Liverpool. Our intention is to offer excited line up with great music that is accessible to everyone, with a balance of up and coming talent and established names.
