When it comes to drum & bass, labels don't get any bigger or more prolific than Andy C's RAM Records. Home to an abundance of all-star producers, the imprint is hailed by almost anyone who's a fan of the genre.
Toronto-raised Rene LaVice made his drum & bass debut in 2009 on Canadian label Stride Recordings, a release which was followed by quality singles, collaborations and remixes, garnering attention from record labels across North America and Europe.
It wasn't long before the likes of DJ Marky, Sub Focus, Total Science, Sigma and more began to support LaVice's offerings and no one was more encompassed than RAM Records boss Andy C.
Shortly after, ‘Headlock' was released as part of the Dimensions 5 EP on RAM, a series which showcases the label's commitment to diversity, but also to the freshest talent around. RAM then offered Rene LaVice an exclusive recording contract. Not bad going, eh?
Rene LaVice's productions and sets also nod to the golden era of drum & bass, all the while paying attention to the fresh and exciting material that's coming through from up-and-coming producers. It's no wonder he was asked by the Prodigy to support their 2015 UK arena tour.
His work with veteran producer Gremlinz led to a release on Bad Concept Records, something the legendary John Rolodex quickly took notice and recruited the starlet for his Machinist Music imprint.
2017 is set to be another big one LaVice, and his mix for us more than proves it...
