Skiddle Recommends: The best events to attend in April 2023

Here are our recommendations for how you can make the most out of April.

We are now into April in what seems like a year where we're going full steam ahead. Luckily, this is looking like one of 2023's busiest months, so it should leave you with plenty of lasting memories. In this month's recommendations, we have an amazing festival down in Liverpool, Sound City.

A place for you to discover your next favourite indie/pop artist, it has often been a stepping stone toward much bigger things for small artists. Aside from that, we have a fantastic range of club nights and raves for you to choose from that will have you making the most of every weekend. 

Now that the weather is a bit brighter, it is the perfect time to start heading to craft beer festivals too to make the most of it. Fin all of this and more in the list below.

 

Our House Warehouse Party

When: Sunday 9th April

Where: The Warehouse, Leeds

Who is in the mood for a party? If you raised your hand then get yourself over to Leeds to indulge in a line-up that includes Abigail Bailey, Dale Castell, Pete Monsoon and more. Across two rooms you'll get a mix of House, Old Skool and Trance tunes to take you away for the weekend.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike-London

When: Saturday 8th April

Where: OVO Arena Wembley, London

A huge show at Wembley's OVO Arena, two heavyweights are coming together that will visually and audibly blow your mind. Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike will be performing in the capital for the first time in eight years so you can be assured that they're going to go all out for a night you won't forget.

Zutekh Presents DJ Boring

When: Friday 14th April

Where: Canvas, Manchester

DJ Boring will be taking over Canvas in Manchester to deliver some memorable House music tunes that the whole venue will be wild for. He'll be joined by local Manchester favourites Nite School as well as the Zutekh DJ's. Let's make Zutekh's first party of the year one for the record books.

Continental GT Steppers- Birmingham

When: Friday 28th April

Where: LAB11, Birmingham

On tour this month are the Continental GT Steppers and they'll be making a stop at Birmingham, with this extra show put on due to demand. You can expect unmatched intensity and good vibes as they promise a show that will have the very best production to make sure that they leave their mark on you.

Bombed Out Church Beer Festival 2023

When: Thursday 20th- Sunday 23rd April

Where: St Lukes Bombed Out Church, Liverpool

The sun will hopefully be out to make this a glorious day out in the warmth. Drink in hand, have a wander about and explore the many craft beers that will be available at this festival. Whether you're looking to expand your palette with new flavours or to have a chat with local brewers, it's well worth coming along to this.

Kanteena's Spring Craft Beer Festival

When: Saturday 8th- Sunday 9th April

Where: Kanteena, Lancaster

The craft beer festivals keep on coming and this one will be at Lancaster favourite Kanteena. All the family are invited to come down for the day as there will be live music, DJs and plenty of food which will make for a brilliant atmosphere. Meet brewers from all over the country who will be ready waiting with your new favourite drink.

Spearhead Presents: Bcee

When: Friday 7th April

Where: Colours Hoxton, London

BCee will be taking over Colours in Hoxton for an intimate showcase where you'll be lucky enough to see his pioneering drum and bass sounds up close and personal. With deep basslines, soulful melodies and dancefloor rollers, you won't want this one to end.

Liverpool Sound City

When: Saturday 29th-Sunday 30th April

Where: Mountford Hall, Liverpool

Liverpool's biggest celebration of new music is back in 2023. Across two days, you'll be introduced to some of the best upcoming names in indie and pop. With plenty of room for experimenters, the headliners will be your more recognisable names amongst a sea of hidden gems.

Nubiyan Twist, K.O.G & More

When: Thursday 6th April

Where: Propyard, Bristol

Nubiyan Twist are musical polymorphs, able to switch up their sound at will. It makes them an incredibly exciting prospect when it comes to playing live and you can catch them at Propyard in Bristol this month. They'll be joined by Afriquoi, Ru Robinson and more.

Circus Presents Jamie Jones, Honey Dijon & More

When: Friday 7th April

Where: Blackstone Street Warehouse, Liverpool

Get this one put on the calendar whilst you still can. Jamie Jones will be headlining Blackstone Street Warehouse thanks to Circus bringing him to town. An all-star line-up of names will be joining him such as Honey Dijon, Yousef, Dennis Cruz and Manda Moor. This will be a huge night.
