Ahoy, we're back with our stereo selections and there's plenty of variation in what's been booming out of our speakers this week. NWA was practically unavoidable with the biopic dropping stateside this week and we've also mined a few gems from the blogosphere to keep your weekend listening interesting. Enjoy.

NWA 'Straight Outta Compton'

We're ridiculously excited about the new biopic of NWA which takes the title of this track, even more so after we got our ears around Dr Dre's soundtrack and spoke to DJ Premier about it this week.

This remains the definitive record of the group and the perfect introduction to newcomers, with every verse a classic from the first line which introduces a "crazy motherfucker named Ice Cube". 27 years later they're still the world's most dangerous group.

Pablo Sanchez 'Easy Out'

It's absolutely pissing it down outside our office at present, so we've had to use aural inspiration to radiate ourselves in a bit of light. The tonic has been this synth heavy groover from Venezuelan producer Pablo Sanchez.

It's a slow building track that gets all the more infectious as it trundles along, capturing that hazy vibe between day and night perfectly and transporting us far, far away from the rain however briefly.

Yung 'Blue Uniforms'

Yung is a fast emerging Nordic force made up of four youthful Danes with plenty of ideas. Meddling with a post-punk aesthetic, the band dropped the Alter EP earlier in the year and now they've pulled the curtains on 'Blue Uniforms', a track taken from their upcoming These Thoughts Are Mandatory Chores slice

A hurtling guitar riff runs through a bed of tireless drums like a supernova for the best-part of a six minute stretch, fleshed out by gravitating vocals and spangled textures, before eventually fizzling out. A constant ball of energy, this track veers the band further into shoegaze territory masking where exactly the next EP will take us.

Ben Smith

Ipman 'Regicide'

Another absolute monster from Pinch's always impressive Tectonic Records camp, the latest outing from Ipman sees the shadowy producer in fine fettle, drawing on old skool jungle and breaks themes to create a track designed to destroy dance floors.

With nods to Vex'd's 2004 LP Degenerate and Toasty's classic 'The Knowledge', the track's smart percussion, intense bass weight, wildly oscillating synths and frenetic cuts send the energy levels skyward as it grinds its way through six minutes of sonic bliss.

Hot Chip 'Started Right'

Breaking with a stripped back funk off between the keys, 'Started Right'  from upcoming album What Makes Sense blossoms into a trade off between a disco jaunt and psychedelic flavours to form a well constructed equilibrium. You could sway all night with a cocktail in hand to this one and practically never get bored.
