We love a good Spotify playlist here at Skiddle, and they don't come better when themed around a musical genius. So we've started up a new series about the musicians we love where we spotlight their best tracks, first up being arguably the greatest hip hop producer of all time, DJ Premier.

As one half of Gang Starr Premier's impact would be enough, crafting the beats behind one of the genre's most revered groups. But beyond that he's worked with the great and good of the industry, mainstream dons like Biggie, Jay-Z and Snoop, underground cats like Big Shug and Group Home, and even pop starts like Janet Jackson and Christina Aguilera.

This playlist spotlights some of his finest work, with notable highlights being 'So Ghetto' and 'Invincible' from Jay-Z and Capone-N-Noreaga respectively, as well as certified Gang Starr classics in 'Mass Appeal', 'DWYCK' and 'Full Clip' and recent efforts from PRhyme and Torri Wolf.
