We’ve been proud to be involved with the Brighton Music Conference for years, helping its goal of providing much-needed discussion and discourse on the industry at large and providing a platform for people to get involved at entry level. This year we’re taking that even further with much more on-site coverage and being part of a panel.
It’s titled How To Get Ahead In The Music Industry, and will involve a discussion about the myriad of options for anyone, artist or otherwise, trying to forge a career in electronic music and will take place in the Academy Theatre. The talk will be moderated by Seamus Haji, with our Head of Content and communication Jimmy Coultas representing us. He'll be joined by Sophia Kearney from The Weird & The Wonderful, Take promoter Paul Quinsey, 'The Wild Seeds' James Bullock and Label Worx honcho Alex Powell.
They’ll be covering topics as varied as the importance of networking, how to properly utilise social media, whether event promotion is a good place to start and much more. Elsewhere at the conference across the Academy and Professional Theatres you can catch talks covering ghost writing, videos, production, saving nightlife and diversity in dance music.
