We've now approached the halfway mark of the Premier League season after the latest round of matches and there was some thrilling entertainment on offer. The Manchester derby was held at Old Trafford and for large spells of the game Manchester City dominated, eventually going ahead thanks to a goal from Grealish.

The final 15 minutes changed everything, however, as United equalised due to a controversial goal. A pass intended for Rashford who was offside instead went to Fernandes who was onside and scored. However it was looking likely that Rashford was going to play the ball but he didn't touch it.

The problem is that it could be seen as though Rashford was interfering with play despite not making contact with the ball, the Manchester City defenders were clearly moving to intercept the offside Rashford who continued towards the ball, leaving Fernandes free. That could just have been smart play from the forward though. It it hard to decide whether it was just clever play or if City should rightfully be angry.

Regardless, four minutes later Rashford was onside to score the winner of an absolute thriller. Brighton were the latest team to bully Liverpool, mauling them 3-0, it looks impossible that the Merseyside club will pick up many points this season with their woeful midfield and defence and the fact that you can clearly see that Klopp has completely lost the dressing room and every single player looks depressed. They are playing the worst football of any side in the league at present.

In a battle of the bottom, Southampton came from behind to beat Everton 2-1 thanks to some brilliance from James Wars-Prowse. It heaped even more pressure on Frank Lampard as his team are in a woeful 19th. Nottingham Forest got a huge boost by beating Leicester 2-0 thanks to a brilliant Brennan Johnson double, a player who has found goals hard to come by so far this season.

There was another important game at the bottom of the table as Wolves consigned West Ham to more time in the relegation zone thanks to a goal from Podence. The appointment of Lopetegui has rejuvenated the Midlands side. Newcastle carried on their fantastic form by beating in-form Fulham 1-0 in a close encounter.

At this stage of the season, anything could happen, Chelsea got back to winning ways by beating Crystal Palace 1-0 and with new signing Mudryk, they may be able to climb the table. Keep up with the latest action with Skiddle's Open Goal. Check out our latest football events below.
