Skiddle's open goal: A weekly roundup of football news and events
We take a look at the latest football news.

Liverpool fans will be in a state of deep, deep depression right now as once again they find themselves losing to a team in the bottom three. Now only five points off the relegation zone themselves, Leeds were the latest team to take advantage of their sluggish performances.
A loose Joe Gomez pass let Rodrygo is for a tap in on goal before a Salah volley equalised. Then in the 90th minute, Summerville scored a dramatic winner for the Yorkshire side. Joe Gomez should be nowhere near that England team for Qatar, he has had one good game all season and been a complete catastrophe otherwise. Liverpool fans will be hoping that he is dropped for the rest of the season.
Manchester City didn't even need Haaland to beat Leicester as Kevin De Bruyne scored a beauty of a free kick. Tottenham delivered a dramatic second-half performance to beat Bournemouth after falling behind to two Keiffer Moore goals. A late winner from Bentancur sealed the absolute scenes. They'll be looking forward to a miserable Liverpool side visiting next weekend.
In what was the biggest shock of the weekend, Graham Potter's unbeaten Chelsea faced De Zebri's winless Brighton since he replaced Potter. Yet, it was Brighton fans who were jubilant as their former manager was left embarrassed on the end of a 4-1 defeat to his former side. Trossard truly is in the form of his life right now.
Newcastle are looking like one of the favourite sides to play Champions League football next season as they are playing terrific football at the moment. It is staggering to see just how well these players are performing when compared to a year ago. An easy 4-0 win over Aston Villa was as routine as it comes and Callum Wilson has put himself in the England conversation.
One name that is also being floated around is Marcus Rashford who the BBC are suddenly touting as a guaranteed starter despite only scoring 4 league goals this season. He bagged the winner over West Ham this weekend but labelling him as a guaranteed starter at the World Cup is hyperbolic to say at the least. We need to judge players over longer periods of time rather than a few good games.
Finally, current top spot holders Arsenal maintained their position at the peak after an easy 5-0 destruction of Nottingham Forest who went back to looking like the team they were before they played Liverpool. There was an injury concern for Bukayo Saka and all eyes will be on whether or not he makes the World Cup. Gabriel Jesus had a great game and did everything but score.
