Performing under the Anchorsong moniker, Masaaki Yoshida has consistently wowed audiences with his perfectly orchestrated live shows that incorporate the use of a sampler and keyboard alongside a string quartet. Championing his ethereal talents, the electro wizard arrives at London's Oslo on Friday 21st November.
Since relocating to the confines of Europe, the Japanese talent has enjoyed great success, carving out a mass following when gaining exposure on the likes of Radio One for Rob Da Bank and curating a live session at Maida Vale for Huw Stephens.
Building on breaking into Europe, Anchorsong released his debut album Chapters which surpassed the hype surrounding its drop, gathering support from premium tastemakers Laurent Garnier and Oneman whilst 'Plum Rain' (below) commanded an extended run in the hype machine charts.
Since relocating back to Tokyo in 2013, he released the Mawa EP supported by the likes of Osunlade and Gilles Peterson for a further eclectic showing wrapped up in tribal percussion, suggesting the direction his upcoming live show will take. Grab your tickets here.
