Stereophonics to replace Snow Patrol at Latitude Festival

Northern Irish rockers Snow Patrol have been forced to back out of this year's Latitude Festival due to 'multiple health issues'.

The group, who headlined the first Latitude Festival back in 2006, have disclosed that guitarist and pianist Jonny McDaid has a serious neck issue that requires urgent surgery, whilst lead guitarist Nathan Connolly is still recovering from nerve damage.

The band has been forced to cancel more upcoming festival dates including this week's Glastonbury and TRNSMT in Glasgow.

Snow Patrol have been touring relentlessly of late, supporting Ed Sheeran on a run of sold-out US stadium shows in 2018 and embarking on their own Wildness Tour in support of their seventh studio album, performing shows in Europe, Dubai, Mexico, Colombia, Paraguay, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina, and a homecoming show in Bangor's Ward Park. 

But it's not all bad news, as the Latitude team have announced that Welsh rockers Stereophonics will replace Snow Patrol on the main stage at Latitude on Saturday 20 July.

Lead singer of the 'Phonics, Kelly Jones, said: "We wish the boys in Snow Patrol all the best and a speedy recovery. The show will be massive and full of tunes to get you beautiful people singing aloud."

Tickets for Latitudes Festival have now officially sold out.
