The last few years has seen the dawning of the second age of superstar DJs, and no selector has epitomised this seismic wave of electronic music quite like Steve Aoki. He'll be returning to London's O2 Academy Brixton on Saturday 7th February, via the clubbing brand that has always resolutely delivered on breathtaking dance music spectacles, Cream.
From his infamous cake throwing escapades right down to flamboyant and crowd pleasing DJing style, Aoki represents the ultimate performer but a man that more than backs it up on the musical front. His inimitable brand of turbo charged house, electro, trap and bass heavy sounds is revered across the globe - listen to his recent Aoki's House podcast above for further evidence.
His label Dim Mak has become a byword for supreme quality in stadium sized rave fodder, whilst his own productions and collaborations with the likes of Tiësto, Bloody Beetroots, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have been fixtures in DJ sets around the world.
This year he released the first part of his studio album Neon Future, with the second installment due in 2015. HIs last shows in the UK were huge sell outs and with his stock never being higher, expect this to do the same.
