Huge news this morning winging your way from Calling Festival with the announcement that a truly special singer will be gracing their stage in 2014. The word legend is bandied around far too frequently in a world reared on hyperbole, but in the instance of the latest addition to the festival the term certainly rings true.
Soul supremo Stevie Wonder can boast of a near fifty year career at the pinnacle of pop music, blessed with both an iconic voice and a stunning back catalogue, and will be heading to Clapham Common to headline the second day of the festival on Sunday 29th June.
A supremely gifted multi singer, his live shows are the stuff of legend - just ask attendees who saw his show stealing prowess at Glastonbury and Bestival in recent years.
From timeless albums in the seventies such as Innervisions, Songs in the Key of Life (stream above via Spotify) and Fulfillingness First Finale, Wonder has created exactly what his name suggests across the globe and will headline the Sunday, following on from Aerosmith one night previously.
Also announced to join the Saturday line up will be American rock icon Richie Sambora, joined by Australian guitar goddess Orianthi.
