Ahead of their appearance in Leeds this Friday, Stoneface & Terminal take a few moments to talk to us:
Forward: Hi lads. Thanks for taking time to speak to us today. Are you looking forward to your first appearance for Forward in November?
Yes we are! Can't wait to play our new stuff there!
How did you both get in to the music scene?
We have made music and DJ'd since the 90's but have been in the business as 'Stoneface & Terminal' since 2005 after we produced "in the background" for others for a couple of years.
Where do you take your influences from when you're making your own music?
Sometimes it comes from gigs we play around the globe or we browse sounds & beats... All kinds of different influences, really!
Who are your favourite producers within the Trance scene at the moment?
There are too many to single out! There are so many great producers out there at the minute it would seem bad to pick just a few!
What other artists do you like outside EDM?
Matthias: Adele
Henry: Snow Patrol
Which 3 tracks have really been doing serious damage in your sets around the world this year?
Stoneface & Terminal - Here to stay
Axwell - Heart is King
Ana Criado - Can't Hold Back The Rain (Stoneface & Terminal Remix)
Just last week, the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ Poll results were announced. What are your thoughts on the poll?
We were in that poll twice: 'Stoneface & Terminal' + 'Stoneface and Terminal'... It's been changed now, but, sorry, you cannot take that poll seriously as it seems pretty dilettante...
How do you feel about the evolution of trance over the last decade?
It all comes together, we think. It opens doors for new and exciting music! There are no rules - it's good to experiment with different sounds and styles!
What do you do to keep your productions at the cutting edge of the modern sound?
We are always on the look out for new sounds & beats all the time and everywhere.
Can you give us one random/interesting fact about yourselves!?
Henry: I am allergic to Apples.
Matthias: I am training for a marathon!
